ART RESIDENCY

Tetéia’s Art Residency is part of a hybrid program of hospitality and artist residency located in a preserved coastal territory with strong cultural and environmental presence.

The program takes place through cycles and welcomes artists and creators interested in developing situated practices in dialogue with the territory, its local knowledge and ecologies.

The residency includes a territorial program with guided visits, walks and meetings with local masters.

There is no requirement to produce a final artwork: as a contribution, each participant shares a reflection or account of their stay, using the language they chose to work with.

The first residency cycles are scheduled for the last quarter of 2026.
Follow the program and the construction process through Tetéia’s Building Journal and social channels.

PROGRAM

Tetéia is organized in cycles that combine art residency, periods of hospitality and a continuous territorial program. These cycles are guided by three core axes: territory, shared living and creation.

Artists, researchers and visitors inhabit the house at different times, always in relation to the local community, the territory of the Maraú Peninsula and the spaces dedicated to creation, shared living and rest.

The program is grounded in situated practices, care for the place and the sharing between people, territorial knowledge and art.

The records, accounts and processes generated throughout the cycles progressively inform Teteia Center for Memory, developed over time.
